The mosquitoes are really bad in the park after a few days of rain. Yesterday afternoon there was only one visitor left in the park--a camper that has been here a couple weeks, and he didn't come out of his motorhome.
On CNN last night there was a story of an "Uncontacted Tribe" in the Amazon. This is a tribe of people who have no contact with the modern world. Some photos from a plane or helicopter show Amazon natives with bows ready to defend themselves, and whole bodies painted red or black. They live in six large communal chick-type structures. I wonder if this is similar to what the Calusa looked like? You can see the story on CNN.com of do a search on Youtube under "Uncontacted tribe."
It has been hectic, and I probably won't have any more updates for a couple weeks!
