20200 East Tamiami Trail, Naples, FL 34114
Enjoy hiking, camping, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and birding (best during fall and winter) amongst the mangroves and tropical hardwood hammocks. Also see the walking dredge used to build the Tamiami Trail.

My personal favorite. (Can you guess why?) The kiosk is right in front of the Bay City walking dredge that constructed part of the Tamiami Trail in the 1920s.
We've been told that this was the first kiosk that was completed for the Everglades Trail in 2002/2003. It is among the best maintained kiosks that I have seen anywhere, that is clean, has the heron weather vane on top, the brochure box that still survives, and even still has trail brochures. (Budgets have been cut, and they aren’t printing any more at this point in time.) Most of the kiosks I visited don’t have all those features.
One of the interesting features is the nature trail/boardwalk through the tropical hardwood hammock. This south Florida habitat is closer to the Yucatan and Caribbean than other parts of Florida that are further north. Here you can see royal palms and gumbo limbo trees grown naturally. You might even see some of the rare liguus tree snails.
(below: A rain storm in October flooded the area around the dredge. The kiosk is now an island.)
