Why do we do it?

I really enjoy talking with Hermann Trappmann. At Dade Battlefield, Hermann and I get together and talk for hours. We don't get many events together, but when we do, we will spend way too much time talking in each other's camps after the public has left. (Or even when they are there.)

Hermann is an interpreter, just like myself. But his interpretation is also done through his paintings. And I think that he captures the essence of who the people were. Almost as if he was there. Maybe he was?

I think that we like to talk about things that nobody else will ask us. We talk about the questions that we want to answer, but for some reason are never asked.

Here is a video of Hermann telling about his motivation of what he does.

Hermann and myself see ourselves as kindred souls who have gone through the same experiences and gotten the same answers when we come out. I have met many other kindred souls over the past few years. Once we recognize who we are, we can't be fooled by politicians and religions that try to fool us into something that we are not. Once your eyes are opened and you see the truth, you can no longer be deceived.

Yes I am sounding a bit cryptic, but if you have experienced the same things that we have, then you know what I am talking about. And you are one of us.
