Sept. 18th, 1836 was the Battle of San Felasco Hammock, north of what is now Gainesville. The area is a state preserve today, but I don't think anyone has located where the battle took place.
As far as battles go, this one involved a large number of soldiers, mixed Florida Militia, regular army artillery, and maybe some Dragoons. Heavy fightings until the Seminoles disappeared and left the soldiers to tend to their wounded.
When I get some more time in a few days I will read up on it some more. This would be a good battle to reenact if there was a place to do it. Because of all the different forces involved and it was a large battle.
