The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki is having an essay contest for Florida fourth graders. Write an essay in the style of a newspaper article about the famous Seminole leader Osceola. The article should touch on the impact Osceola had on Florida history and/or the Seminole Wars. (Feel free to ask me any historical-related questions here!)
Each essay must be between 300-500 words, preferred typed (if hand written it must be legible), 12 pt. font, and double-spaced. Essays will be judged based on grammar, content, and creativity.
The top winners will each receive:
--4 tickets to the Osceola Remembered exhibit opening at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum
--A museum gift box
--Your article will be included in the Osceola Remembered exhibit opening on January 26, 2008.
--Your article will be published in the Seminole Tribune newspaper.
