A story that was buried in the news today was one about a
Wild party that trashed a house on Marco Island.
Oh and since that story, they found the house sitter was guilty of stealing items in the house. No surprise there.
"I don't know what happened officer… I was just watching the E channel when all these people showed up and had a wild party. There was nothing I could do to stop it."
Marco Island is just ripe for these types of activities. Few people live there during the summer. I took a drive to look at the Otter Mound the other evening, and most houses in the neighborhood look like nobody is living there for the season.
I viewed the eclipse the other morning, and went down highway 92 where I got a good view of it. After 6 a.m. I decided to stop at the Burger King on San Marco Blvd/Barfield to get some coffee. They were closed. Most Burger King and McDonalds will be open by 6 a.m., but there was no sign of life. And no cars on the road on Marco Island except trucks from Waste Management hunting down trash dumpsters. I was really wanting some coffee. I went up to Collier Blvd to go to the McDonalds a few miles up in Naples that is usually open that time in the morning. Driving through Marco it was still a ghost town. No traffic even if it was a school and work day.
It must be nice.
