I was stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona when I was in the Army. This was back in 1990-1992. Arizona is a fun place with lots of scenic outdoors places you can really get into. If I had found a job there when I got out of the army, I would have stayed.
One of the really fun places near Ft. Huachuca, is the town of Tombstone, Arizona. I would go there on a regular basis, often on Sunday for lunch at "Big Nose Kate's Saloon" followed by the gunfights reenacted every Sunday. This year is the 125th anniversary of the infamous gunfight at the OK Corral, which made the town famous. They are having a big festival this year, and you can get VIP tickets at http://www.ok-corral.com/ .
Wish I had the money to go, because I really had fun there.
